Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I actually think I say that about every incoming season. Who am I kidding, they are all my favorite! What I love about Fall is the cool crispness in the air, the beautiful colors of changing trees, back-to-school excitement, and traditions of the season. One of those traditions is going to an apple orchard and picking lots of fresh apples.
I have three go-to recipes that I make every year after our apple orchard adventures. One of them is crock pot apple butter. I love this recipe! Its very simple and you can adjust the ingredients to your taste. I start it early in the day and leave it on low in the crock pot for several hours. It makes the entire house smell SO good! Of course I share some with family each year.
When you cook this recipe, start with smaller amounts of each ingredient than is listed. As the apples soften, give it a taste and add additional ingredients to your taste. The beautiful thing with this recipe is that you can add to it as often and as much as you would like. Are you ready to have your socks knocked off?!
Oh, and use a tool like this one to make your life easier when prepping the apples.
